At AKKA, we are driven by Architecting Interaction; our vision of Architecture. In line with Architecting Interaction’s goal to foster interactions, engaging with people in conversations, workshops, lectures and speeches is a natural and intrinsic part of what we do. Our architecture is not limited to bricks and mortar, instead it is about energy and interactions. Over the years, the vision, the principles and the process of Architecting Interaction have proven relevant to all audiences, across all fields, way beyond architecture. Stephanie is regularly invited to speak to diverse audiences including design, technological, financial, governmental, and corporate.

In Belfast, she spoke about her background, her environment growing up and the forces that shaped her vision of the world today. After sharing her personal motivation and how her philosophy of Architecting Interaction came to be, Stephanie explains the principles of Architecting Interaction and AKKA’s ongoing dedication to innovate human interactions. At the International Interaction Design Association conference, Stephanie not only shares her vision behind AKKA but she also explains the custom process she designed to make that vision reality. Beyond the digital realm of interactive design, interactions include people’s verbal and nonverbal physical interactions. “As an architect, space is my interface. Whatever yours may be, I believe it is only a tool and only relevant in the context of interactions it can stimulate and the users’ experiences it can offer” – Stephanie A. Hughes.
